The Spanish Institute is an official Spanish school and is the only accredited Siele Spanish Examination Centre in New Zealand., we have regular job vacancies in our schools in Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North and Wellington.
Spanish Institute teacher applicants should be:
- Native Spanish speaking teachers from Spain and Latin America.
- University Graduates in Education or certified in ELE.
- Experienced in teaching languages to foreigners (ELE)
- Practitioners of the official Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR).
- Familiar with the Aula Internacional series of Spanish textbooks from Difusion.
Spanish Institute teacher visa requirements:
- All teachers are independent contractors.
- Must hold a Working holiday visa, Work visa or permit, Residence or Citizenship.
- Student visa will not be accepted as they can not legally work for the Spanish Institute
- Due to the covid crisis and the New Zealand border being closed we are not taking overseas applicants, please wait till the border opens before applying.
Spanish teacher resources and experience provided to teachers:
- All teaching materials are provided to teachers including teaching manuals.
- Personal development workshop and teacher training
- Teaching certificates
- Reference letters

Internships
The Spanish Institute provides a limited number of positions each year for foreign language teacher and marketing internships for Univrsity students, whether its as part of your University degree or you want to gain experience as a language teacher. You will have access to an extensive range of teacher resources, a mentor and gain a recognised certificate upon completion..
